The Problem: A Previously Landscaped Garden Which Felt Disconnected
Our Nottinghamshire-based clients bought a stunning new show home, but the garden was a little less show worthy. Landscaped quickly during the building of their housing estate, the garden’s outlook felt disjointed and wasn’t the vision our clients had for their space.
Our Solution
To achieve the flatter garden our clients desired, additional timber retaining sleepers raised the level of the lawn space. Embracing the height increase, brick walling creates raised flower beds around the boundaries of the garden. Utilising the walls, a built-in seating area forms a cosy fire pit area. Over on the other side of the fire pit, an additional patio space is home to a summer house, capturing the best sunlight throughout the day and seasons.
Low growing planting maintains structure in the garden without height overwhelming the space. A mostly evergreen palette allows the garden to be enjoyed at any time of the year.
The main patio nearest to the house provides ample space for relaxing on comfy chairs or entertaining in the hot tub.
The Final Result
By retaining some much-loved elements from the old garden, and introducing a new layout with additional tiers, we were able to achieve the transformation our clients had dreamt of. Their garden is now a beautiful extension of their stunning home.
