The Problem: High Maintenance and Ageing Garden Needing a Fresh Look
Our Leicestershire-based clients faced a challenging garden. Sloping up from the house, the space was hard to maintain. Our clients had tried landscaping it themselves in tiers using wooden sleepers, but over the years and without professional installation, these had rotted away.
What they desired was a low maintenance garden that could be enjoyed by the whole family including their grandchildren.
To create this multi-level garden into a sociable and attractive space, the area was divided into large flat terraces. Being mindful of the steep level increase throughout, a gentle slope was introduced decreasing the number of steps needed in the garden.
Nestled between the two main terraces, a circular seating area captures the best sunlight throughout the day. A new artificial lawn forms the lowest level providing a low maintenance, safe area for grandchildren to play.
Grey materials modernise the garden. Yet the natural sandstone and rustic brick encompasses a classic and timeless design. Shrub planting provides a stunning backdrop all year round with any of the hassles of upkeep.
The Final Result
This garden is now a spacious, stylish and relaxing place. The careful selection of materials ensures this beautiful outdoor space is simple to maintain and can be enjoyed by all members of the family.
