Sloping up from the house, the space was hard to maintain. To create this multi-level garden into a sociable and attractive space, the area was divided into large flat terraces.
Gardens on different levels create the most interesting and useable garden design. Adding height is one of the key principles designers introduce which give sloped gardens an additional advantage. Although sloped gardens can be some of the most difficult to maintain, with the right design, they can become one of the easiest to care for and enjoy.
Our Leicestershire-based clients were due to retire and had an overgrown garden they wanted to enjoy their new found free time in. The bottom of their steeply sloped space was so overgrown, it was never used. Ready to take on the next chapter of their lives, they desired a garden designed with plants at the forefront and places to sit a relax throughout the space.
This garden boasts suburban luxury. A fantastic space for enjoying large gatherings with friends or more intimate evenings with family. Orange-stained timber adds warmth and an inviting atmosphere. Ample patio spaces completely open up this area to a whole host of events.
Sloping upwards away from the house it felt disjointed and neglected, with very little useable space to enjoy. This outdoor space needed flattening into terraces to fully transform how the garden could be used.
