The design gave this family a simple yet elegant space in which to enjoy their view and beautiful property. This building site was transformed into a beautifully established garden that looks right at home in its stunning rural surroundings. A pleasure for our clients to enjoy with their family, friends, grandchildren and dog.
Classic gardens are all about elegance and design. Often looking manicured and timeless, with the addition of fountains or sculptures. But, in fact, the design and planting scheme of a classic garden is often quite simple.
Our Leicestershire-based clients were due to retire and had an overgrown garden they wanted to enjoy their new found free time in. The bottom of their steeply sloped space was so overgrown, it was never used. Ready to take on the next chapter of their lives, they desired a garden designed with plants at the forefront and places to sit a relax throughout the space.
Sloping up from the house, the space was hard to maintain. To create this multi-level garden into a sociable and attractive space, the area was divided into large flat terraces.
The property had an interesting history and is part of a grade II listed conversion. With no back garden, some element of privacy was required to allow our clients to enjoy their garden space. And with small grandchildren, they needed a safe, low maintenance design.
Several mature pine trees dominated the space and often with a large garden, it can feel vast and disconnected from the home. Different areas needed linking together to create a more useable place to enjoy.
